Bow Lake Equestrian was established in 1997 and really is a family affair.

Since 2005 David Stone has been at the helm and so in 2009 when the opportunity to purchase the livery yard came about it was just a too good an opportunity to miss. His partner, Colin, has competition horses stabled at the yard and although a qualified instructor and groom he has pursued a career outside of the equestrian industry.

Our aim is to ensure a professional yet friendly and relaxed environment providing a first class service for owners and riders to enjoy their horses in a safe and supportive environment.

Bow Lake caters for every need and ability level - whether riding for pleasure or competitively, a nervous new owner of a first horse or an experienced equestrian enthusiast.

Experienced staff are always on hand to give any additional help or support needed as we understand that the horses’ happiness and welfare are paramount. Whilst we try to accommodate the individual needs of the horses we feel that routine is also important.

David Stone

David Stone riding

David Stone has worked in the horse industry for over 20 years, including time with Olympic event rider Ginny Elliott and international event rider Nicky Stevens. During this time David has developed a wealth of experience both in training and caring for horses in different disciplines and at the highest levels.  More recently, David has ridden to small tour level competing successfully at Prix St.George and Intermediate I level. He currently trains with Anna Ross.

David oversees all aspects of the yard and is the first person on the yard in the mornings to feed at 0630.  Having the owner still so involved in the day-to-day running of the yard means that you can expect expert knowledgeable care for your horse.
